KATOOMBA RSL CLUB
86 Lurline St, Katoomba, Blue Mountains, Australia
The Grahams are the creative union of lifelong romantic partners Alyssa and Doug Graham. They combine soulful bluegrass with hints of earthy Americana, adding colors from traditional folk and country blues, into an infectious blend of storytelling that results in songs of love, loss, yearning, and the view from rural American roads less traveled.
Their album “Riverman’s Daughter,” is a winning culmination of The Grahams’ long journey into the heart of America, the inspiration they derived from immersion into classic American music, and the natural and honest talent they have for bringing forth a modern musical idiom steeped in tradition.
Performing as part of their Australian Tour at Katoomba RSL, they will also be joined by All Our Exes Live in Texas and Marcas Blacke on the night.
All Our Exes Live in Texas is a fantasy draft of Sydney musical talent – Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts & Georgia Mooney – all beautiful performers in their own right, here combining in four-part folk heaven.
On mandolin, ukulele, accordion and guitar, All Our Exes deliver tunes that are clearly crafted with taste, care and skill in the context of a spontaneous, playful and utterly charming live show. With four songwriters and four unique voices, All Our Exes make music that is refreshingly different, drawing influence from traditional four-part harmony to create a brand new type of modern folk. Fair warning: You’ll need your charisma sunnies or you’ll walk out of the building a little bit in love.
They tour Australia this October to celebrate the release of their brand new single Tell Me, from their forthcoming debut album.
Tell Me is about mess and chaos – a disarray of love, punch-ups and everything in between. It’s a song you’ll have floating around in your head for days.
Recorded at Linear Studios and engineered, produced and mixed by Chris Vallejo (Passenger) the single features Evan Mannell (Bertie Blackman, Ngaiire) on drums and Zoe Hauptmann (Paul Kelly, Lanie Lane) on bass.
Tell Me showcases the magic that is All Our Exes Live In Texas. Idyllic harmonies, accompanied a gorgeous mix of mandolin, ukulele, accordion and guitar, and that rare ability to combine the humorous and the heartfelt in their songs and on stage banter.
“All Our Exes Live In Texas filled the Howler bar with incredible harmonies and a folky vibe. They clearly enjoy performing, and their talent combined with their relaxed and funny banter caused the audience to instantly fall in love with them. Their accordion and mandolin accompaniment in tandem with ukulele and classical guitar adds a unique dimension to their music, ensuring everyone who sees them play won’t be able to forget them. These guys certainly make a big impression” –- The AUreview
“..the Sydney outfit are tight in performance and witty in banter…with just the right mix of raw talent and irreverent performance, they are a joy to watch.” – themusic.com.au
