RIP Tristan Goodall - a huge loss and he leaves this world far too young. Our condolences to Taasha and all who knew Tristan and we are thinking of them while they navigate this sadness.
His musical legacy is a gift that will live on.Friends, I have sad news.
As many of you know, in late 2020 The Audreys founding member Tristan Goodall was forced to quit touring due to ill health. I am very sad to have to pass on the news that despite our best hopes for his recovery, we lost our dear Tristan on the weekend. He was 48 years old.
I have talked to so many people in the last few days who knew Tristan, and the outpouring of love has been overwhelming. He touched so many of us with his beautiful music, his big heart, his big hugs and his big goofy laugh.
Tristan and I met in 1997 in Adelaide. We were university students, with silly dreams about touring the world with a band. Tristan already played in a rock band, which was so cool to this skinny jazz singer with a breathy voice and crippling stage fright. But Tristan saw something in me, and as we started playing and writing songs together a whole new world opened up. We went on to do so many wonderful things together with our music. We met and worked with amazing and talented people, we walked onto stages big and small together all over the world. It has been the most incredible adventure.
25 years later I have to say goodbye to my dearest friend, my musical soulmate, and my grief is almost unbearable. Rest in peace my darling Tristan. We had a dream and we made it happen, can you believe that?
Thank you so much for sharing that journey with me. I will miss you everyday.

Fusion Boutique Presents has another fabulous double live music headliner coming up next month...
JODI PHILLIS w/ Band ‘We Need To Be Free’ Album Launch + KING CURLY Live in Concert at Baroque Room, Katoomba, Carrington Hotel drive way entrance, Blue Mountains - SAT 13th AUG.
Singer-songwriter, composer and artist Jodi Phillis (The Clouds, Dearhunters, Roger Loves Betty) is releasing her 6th solo album, ‘We Need To Be Free’ in June 2022 through Melbourne based Cheersquad Records. To celebrate its release, Jodi is touring the Eastern states of Australia with her talented band – featuring guitarist, composer Damien Lane, Matt Steffen and Phil Lally, to perform her uniquely haunting, country-tinged, chamber folk-pop songs that are sure to evoke tears and ecstasy.
Sharing the bill with Jodi and her band on the night are King Curly in full band mode featuring Blue Mountains local Steve Appel, a long-time enigma of original Australian music with his songs that bring to life avenging zombies, ukulele bumblebees, possessed pianos and a certain air of quiet, small town romance, against an impossibly beautiful backdrop of chook-shed instrumentation. The band also features Steve Grieve on guitars and Johnny Graffham on pedal steel.
This is a special night of masterful music not to be missed, from two of Australia’s most unique singer songwriters.

Fusion Boutique Presents the 2022 & 2021 CMAA Golden Guitar, Australia Folk Music & Music VIC award winners THE WEEPING WILLOWS + SMITH & JONES performing at the gorgeous Baroque Room, Carrington Hotel as part of their 'You Reap What You Sow' Album Launch Tour - SAT 30th JULY.
We advise booking quickly to avoid disappointment!
The Weeping Willows (Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth) are a couple of old souls, steeped in Bluegrass tradition and draped in Gothic Americana imagery. They regale their audiences with stories of sunshine and romance, God and The Devil, murder and decay. 2017-2022 saw them nominated for 12 x CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ awards, 4 x Country Music Channel (CMC) awards, 2 x Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs), and Live Act of the Year (Country) in the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs). "This is music that mixes songwriting, storytelling, virtuosic playing and the simple delight of two perfectly matched voices singing in harmony to excellent effect.” - Chris Familton, Post to Wire
Smith & Jones, a duo from Bathurst, made up of keyboard player and vocalist Abby Smith, with guitarist and vocalist Sophie Jones, have never been ones to follow the pack. Though classified as alt-country, their goal has never been to remain within the confines of any genre, preferring to let their sound and their songs take them where they will. 2022 will see them release new recorded work which looks set to further their reputation as a duo worthy of their high regard as both a live act, and their sensitivity and skill as songwriters and recording artists.

French Inspired Quirk-folk act The Coconut Kids (Belgium, Ireland & Adelaide!) Blue Mountains Tour + Special Guests Blue Mountains locals Belle Jar live in Concert at Junction 142, Uniting Church space, Katoomba, Blue Mountains.
Infectiously fun and outrageously different, The Coconut Kids are an eclectic group that defy genres and styles. They’ve been wooing audiences across Australia and beyond with their own blend of French-influenced world folk using ukulele, brass, bass, keys, violin, mandolin and powerful vocals. The kids’ unique sound will have you dancing one minute and in tears the next.
