Jug band blues, political satire and lunatic on-stage antics combine as a new-vaudevillian comedy cabaret. Audiences know Mic Conway’s tongue-in-cheek style from “Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band” and “Circus Oz”. From Byron Bay BluesFest to Port Fairy and Woodford Folk Festivals to Adelaide Cabaret Festival… the National Junk Band have become festival favourites for their unique collision of fire, illusion, passion, irreverent satire, magic, singing saws, flying chooks, musical mayhem and some very funny songs.

“The king of Vaudeville in Australia today.” – Lucky Oceans

“Perfectly pitched… In one tune they were able to pack in a lifetime of Cabaret.” – Roy & H.G

“Mic Conway looks like he was born on a cabaret stage… his ease with a variety of cabaret styles from music hall and vaudeville to New Wave testifies to this involvement and his expertise is apparent.” – The Age

MIC CONWAY & ROBBIE LONG in Concert + Dinner at Paragon Café, Katoomba, Blue Mountains, Fri 7th Aug 2015

MIC CONWAY & ROBBIE LONG in concert at the iconic Paragon.
(CONCERT + 3 COURSE GOURMET DINNER + A GLASS OF MULLED WINE + TEA/COFFEE, BISCOTTI & CHOCOLATES!)

Fri 7th August 2015
Strictly limited tickets!

Mic Conway & Robbie Long in an intimate performance of music, magic and more!

In a circus of comedy, music and magic, Mic Conway and flat-picking guitar champion Robbie Long present a hilarious array of idiosyncratic songs that will make your jaw drop, toes tap and sides split.

ARIA award-winning Mic Conway is a singer, actor, musician, song writer, fire eater, magician, tap dancer, juggler and more. Audiences who know Mic from his days with “Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band” and Circus Oz will be delighted by this incarnation: Mic as storyteller of tall tales and true. There are new songs and some oldies close to Conway’s heart. He croons “It’s Only a Paper Moon” and a heart-breaking version of “Mad World”, dispenses good advice in “Never Bite a Married Woman on the Thigh” and revisits Captain Matchbox classic “My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes” and Tom Lehrer’s “Masochism Tango”.

There’s magic, juggling, cavorting and that trademark tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. Stripped back, irreverent, and shameless… it’s surreal vaudeville for crooning and swooning.
