Coral Snakes Legends Dave Graney & Clare Moore Unveil New Collab Album “Everything Was Funny”

Prolific alt artists Dave Graney and Clare Moore — duo with guitars/vibes/keys/melodica.
However they choose to play, they bring their story and their songbook which stretches to over 40 albums.
They make shows like few others.

During the initial Melbourne pandemic lockdown these partners in both life and music started doing online shows every week, sometimes twice a week, and revisited songs from all their albums as well as work-shopping new material. They kept their performing nerve and playing and writing skills sharp. Then the lockdown eased and they played some shows around Australia. Then the lockdown came back again. Luckily their lockdown nerves held too.
They had been planning a rock album with their band, the mistLY,  but times didn’t allow it so they made their own album in their studio. The duo’s album is a classic Compact Disc packed with too many songs for vinyl. Somewhat of a cathartic release, it’s an album for the freaks called EVERYTHING WAS FUNNY. Graney, known for his biting tongue and blade-sharp wit, has let fly with even more trademark wryness and cheek.

They’ll be playing some of it, mixed in with old classics from their songbook, along with some choice interpretations of other peoples songs.

When people ask you in the future, “what was it like in those years-2020-2021?” You can begin by stroking your chin and saying …”weeelll… everything was funny”…

Dave Graney was awarded ‘Best Male Vocalist’ at the ARIA Music Awards of 1996 for his work on The Soft ‘n’ Sexy Sound, while “Feelin’ Kinda Sporty” won ‘Best Video’ in 1997 and he has received seven other ARIA Award nominations.

STEPHEN CUMMINGS Live at the Baroque Room, Katoomba, Blue Mountains, SAT 22nd February 2020

Fusion Boutique & Premier Artists Present
STEPHEN CUMMINGS
Live at the Baroque Room, Carrington Hotel

Saturday 22nd February 2020, 8:00pm. Doors Open 7:00pm.

Venue: BAROQUE ROOM 15 Katoomba St
– NEW ENTRY VIA THE CARRINGTON HOTEL DRIVEWAY –
Katoomba, NSW 2780 Blue Mountains.

Iconic performer and songwriter Stephen Cummings took his bow to Australian audiences during his farewell tour at the start of 2019. Cummings was supposed to have retired after he finished touring his album, ‘Prisoner of Love’, but he grew bored of the down time and decided to perform a limited number of acoustic shows from February to May 2020.

A new album of self-penned country blues will follow at the end of 2020. Cummings insists, “You will see me at the height of my powers, taking you on a wonderful spiritual journey you’ll never forget with my guitarist Sam Lemann.

“We’ve been fans of Stephen’s for years. You never know what he’s going to do – he’s totally unpredictable on and off stage. That’s what makes him so exciting to watch and listen to. He’s a true original, and we love him to bits.” – Vicka & Linda Bull

“Alongside Nick Cave and Tim Rogers, I would nominate Stephen Cummings. He is easily one of our great storytellers, capable of creating lives in miniature.” – SMH

“Apart from Paul Kelly, no other Australian solo artist has managed to sustain a recording and performing career at such a high level of artistry for as long as Stephen Cummings.” – The Age

“Debonair, romantic and sensitive, Cummings owns a voice that allows vulnerable yearning qualities as much space as an authoritative voice of experience.” – Rolling Stone

Dave Graney and Clare Moore are back in 2019 with a new album called ZIPPA DEEDOO WHAT IS/WAS THAT/THIS?
It’s approximately their 30th (?) and is a killer set of rock music – made properly, like they’ve always done. It has “eight songs done thirteen ways” and ranges from pop gems like “Baby I wish I’d been a better pop star”, to their homage to Stones Lore in ULTRAKEEF, and then the 8 1/2 minute West Coast epic jam that is served up twice in “Is That What You Did?”.

They play music drawn from a lifetime in rock ’n’ roll culture. They didn’t learn their licks in school, they made their own mistakes and set up their own standards.
Whatever they do, whatever they play, they bring their ace game. Their primo strategies. Their stellar grooves and street wise lyrical fire.

CALL OF THE WILD feat. RUFINO AND THE COCONUTS – A Tropical Jungle party, Plus DJ Stu Buchanan at Baroque Room, Katoomba Blue Mountains, FRI 1st September 2017

CALL OF THE WILD feat. RUFINO AND THE COCONUTS – A Tropical Jungle party, Plus DJ Stu Buchanan at Baroque Room

Fri 1st September 8th 2017
Venue: BAROQUE ROOM 86 Bathurst Rd (Upstairs from ‘The Harp & Fiddle’ Irish Bar), Katoomba, NSW 2780 Blue Mountains.

Rufino and the Coconuts play The Baroque Room

Sailing on a raft made of 60s guitars, 80s synthesisers and souvenir-junk percussion come the castaways of Rufino and the Coconuts. Rufino, crooner and violinist, renowned for his work with Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen, brings his sensational solo show of tropical-noir to The Baroque Room, Katoomba with a full 8-piece band to stir your very bones.

The Coconuts tell tales of Caribbean dentists, jungle misadventures, cray fishing and near-death love-affairs all delivered with a bone rattling backbeat.
They groove, they rock-steady, they spread good time tropical pop and then they yell and run from the evil spirit Baron Samedi.

Led by Rufino the Catalan Casanova – a tropical misfit well-dressed in a strange land – Rufino and the Coconuts take you on a journey both dark and joyful. With flashes of Voodou, rocksteady, 80s post-punk and smooth jungle disco, Rufino and the Coconuts is the band of your exotic island dreams and perhaps your most vivid jungle nightmare!
So join the expedition. With Rufino and the Coconuts at the lead it’s a tropical adventure we know you’ll just love!
