All the way from Co. Clare, Ireland, the prodigiously gifted Susan O’Neill’s soulful & husky-voiced performances are truly something to behold. Using guitar, harmonica, trumpet and a loop pedal, Susan delivers a timeless and powerful blend of the old & new. Her inspirational fusion of soulful Irish folk & her own acclaimed original material makes for an entertaining & enchanting musical experience.

Having been compared to both Adele and Florence and the Machine by Pure M, SON (Susan O Neill) from Ireland has, so early in her career, picked up many fans including U2’s Bono.
She covered U2’s Exit song for the Hot Press magazine 30-year celebration of The Joshua Tree and Bono, on hearing her version, emailed her personally ‘to the dark-eyed Susan…I love the stark rendition of Exit….your fan Bono.”

She has also supported Imelda May, Mundy, Alabama 3, Sharon Shannon, Fun Lovin Criminals, David Gray and Madness to name a few.

Her solo performances are literally mind-blowing. The amazing range of her gritty vocal combined with her superb guitar technique, her loop pedals and trumpet, make for a truly unforgettable musical experience.

Not content with mastering a unique choice of musical instruments, SON gained a BA in Music, majoring in recording techniques and minoring in the art of performance.

“Not only is she a powerhouse vocalist, a talented musician, she also knows how to get it down onto a track when it comes to the studio.” – Hot Press

Her debut album ‘Found Myself Lost’ contains some incredibly well-crafted songs and her voice sometimes soulful, sometimes brash but always beautiful, is world class. Ignore her at your peril, SON is here to stay.

OWEN CAMPBELL + Special Guest Tally Ho & The 10-to-go’s (Oliver Morley-Sattler) in Concert at The Metropole Guesthouse Upstairs for ‘Metro Social’ Katoomba Blue Mountains, SAT 17th November 2018

Fusion Boutique Presents ‘Metro Social’ with
OWEN CAMPBELL
+ Special Guest Tally Ho & The 10-to-Go’s (Oliver Morley-Sattler)
Live in Concert at the 1930’s Metropole Guesthouse.

Saturday 17th November 2018, 6pm. Doors Open 5pm.

Owen Campbell is one of Australia’s premiere Blues/Roots/Rock performers who defies easy categorisation. He’s a slide guitarist, a songwriter, banjo player, blues singer, busker, and more.

After a spell off the road, Owen is coming back with a new release, new songs and a fresh approach.

Known for his controversial appearance on Australia’s Got Talent and constant touring and busking around the World, Owen’s last three albums have been big budget productions, working in the US with the likes of Devon Allman amongst others. They have netted Owen continuous top 10 iTunes chart positions over the last 6 years, serving him well. Even as this is written Owen currently has the #2, #3 and #4 album on the Australian iTunes Charts (Blues). It is, however, time for a change and an opportunity for the artist to get back to his roots and a more natural song-writing process.

Owen will be touring new material this September through December in Part 1 and 2 of the Take Your Medicine Tour.

“Seasoned musician with a mountain of talent.” – Sydney Morning Herald
“Possibly one of the best performers to come out of Australia for quite sometime, amazing lap steel slide guitar and a songwriting ability that belies his years.” – Argus News Ireland
“Impressive, Rootsy and Real.” – Jazz Weekly USA
“This (Breathing Bullets) is a very good album with strong, diverse songwriting that shows a lot of promise for songs not yet written, but eagerly awaited.” – Blues Blast Magazine

Mama Kin Spender is a lightning bolt moment between two long-time friends, co-writers and mischief-makers: ARIA-nominated Mama Kin and producer Tommy Spender.
It’s a stripped back duo of brooding guitars, primal drums and howling harmonies.

Mama Kin Spender’s songs rattle, roll and tremble, from block party to heart rending ballad. With a sound that is as raw as it is joyful, Mama Kin Spender will challenge you to raise your voice in defiance of the status quo.

Mama Kin Spender have been flat chat since the release of their album ‘Golden Magnetic’ in February 2018, cramming in a national album launch run amidst shows at Perth Festival, WOMADelaide, Summersalt, Nannup Festival, Fairbridge Festival, SOTA, and Woodford Planting Festival. Fresh off the back of their USA, Canadian and Irish tours, Mama Kin Spender will be rounding off 2018 with some Australian festivals and show dates.

“Understated, slick and soulful” – Double J

“Mama Kin and Spender bring fresh ideas to an old school sound” – The West Australian

“A rich, textural, at times raucous and at times gentle but stirring collection of stories and fables.” – The Music.com.au

+ Special Guest Jacob Diamond

Alt-folk oddity Jacob Diamond sings bold songs about love and death. After years in Perth’s songwriting underground, Diamond has recently emerged as one of the foremost singer-songwriters in the west, furnished with huge melodies and incisive lyrics. He pens intricate, genre-bent bangers taking all the best bits from a box of 60’s compilation CDs, memories of a crowded Catholic childhood, Les Miserables and one reckless detour into jazz-study. Well short of being as confused as it sounds, his work has earned him first prize in The Big Splash band competition, WAM awards for best folk act (2015) and best male vocalist (2016), the acclaimed release of EPs Chum (2015) and Um (2017) and national tours and supports.

‘…A phenomenal voice, with excellent control and impressive range… the performance definitely promised the young talent to be an artist worth paying attention to.’- Larry Heath, AU REVIEW

+ Special Guests DEVIL ON THE ROOFTOP

Devil on the Rooftop are a fantastical realm between Eastern European folk tunes, Bluegrass and something else…
DOTR is combination of the talents of Jess Randall (The Crooked Fiddle Band) and Morgan Haselden (Mimosa).

Jess Randall entangles her classical background with a gut-wrenching no-holds-barred approach to traditional fiddling styles. She has toured Europe, The UK, Scandinavia and Australia on many occasions with her other musical love, The Crooked Fiddle Band.
Jess’ love of ‘faster than you can actually play’ Romanian fiddle style and appreciation of it’s parallelism with hard-driving Bluegrass set her off on a quest to train-wreck the genres into something more than the sum of it’s parts, finally emerging with Devil on the Rooftop.

Morgan Haselden founded ‘Mimosa’, a modern Gypsy duo, which has toured Australia and France. Morgan has studied under some of Australia’s best classical guitarists and performs regularly as a Classical and Gypsy performer.
