It recognises woman who have pioneered, succeeded in or positively impacted the industry and community. They were looking for woman with creativity, community and also business savvy in their approach to making a difference in these sectors.

“I am so incredibly honoured to be selected as a winner in the Performing & Creative Arts award category this year. Thank you WSW and the award sponsors for this opportunity! Thank you also to all the amazing artists, venues and the technical and events teams that I have had the greatest pleasure of working with. I urge everyone who is able to come out and support the live music and performing arts industry wherever possible. The last few years in particular have seen bushfires, floods, covid and a down turn in tourism and have required even more hard work, sacrifice and commitment. Owner Charity Mirow / Fusion Boutique included in Brigitte Grant’s book ‘Women’s Journeys’ a collection of Blue Mountains’ Women and their Stories

‘Women’s Journeys’ celebrates one hundred women, of all ages and walks of life, who live in and around the Blue Mountains in NSW, Australia.

Charity had the great pleasure of attending Brigitte Grant’s book launch for her fabulous project ‘Women’s Journeys’ held at the Hydro Majestic on 8th June. It was a wonderful celebration of this incredible project that Brigitte has created and so nice to finally find out who was involved (everyone was sworn to secrecy!)
Charity is incredibly honoured to have been asked to be a part of this collection and as some would know she doesn’t particularly like being on the other side of the camera so thank you Brigitte for pushing her out of the comfort zone (it was also a frightfully cold and super windy day) to be snapped and for including a little of her story especially through this unique time that we are all experiencing in different ways.
This is a collection of wonderful diverse and inspiring women in our community that Brigitte has beautifully captured and I look forward to being able to read through everyone’s contributions.

Brigitte you are amazing and should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved and we are all incredibly grateful to be included.
Also well done to Mark Alston on all your terrific work too!

Books can be ordered online and of course in line with Brigitte’s generous nature $5 from each book sold will be donated to Blue Mountains Women’s Health and Resource Centre.

LOVE LOCAL LIVE series 2 program announcement!

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the first live streaming series a 2nd series of the Love Local Live streaming project is being presented.

This first live stream series showcased some of our terrific and talented local musicians performing at local recording and rehearsal venue Shelter Studios, and the sound and visual aspects by KFM Media were top class.
Fusion Boutique’s curator and producer Charity Mirow couldn’t be happier to have the chance to showcase some more of our fabulous local talent and work with some of the wonderful creatives of our region, especially when the current climate remains so challenging surrounding venue capacities, national and international touring and live music in general.
The new streaming series will be launching Thursday 15th October from 7:30-8:30pm and running for 5 consecutive weeks.
Launching Series 2 is Piccolo Bear – A folk / bluegrass duo from the Blue Mountains. Their unique sound blends dark and sweet harmonies with banjo, ukulele and guitar. They have just returned home from playing shows in Italy and Vancouver, where they were based last year.

LOVE LOCAL LIVE 2 PROGRAM:
• 15/10/20 – Piccolo Bear
• 22/10/20 – Blue Sherlock
• 29/10/20 – Witches Leap
• 5/11/20 – Dee (Andie)
• 12/11/20 – Eagle & Wolf

Again, a big thanks to the Blue Mountains City Council for enabling this project, for recognising the impact the ongoing situation surrounding covid has had on our local music industry, and for acknowledging the value that music can have for the audience.

You can join the event and invite friends (from all locations!) to come and be a part of this great initiative.

LOVE LOCAL LIVE – Live Music Streaming Project

Proudly presented and supported by Blue Mountains City Council in partnership with Fusion Boutique Presents and Shelter Studios: LOVE LOCAL LIVE

“I am really pleased to officially announce a project that I have been quietly working away on with Blue Mountains City Council: LOVE LOCAL LIVE – a series of live streamed performances by local artists held at local recording and rehearsal studio Shelter Studios, with production by KFM Media. The initiative will run for 6 consecutive weeks commencing Monday 15th June from 7-8pm.

Love Local Live is Council’s first-ever series of local events that will be brought to the community via live streaming. It is an extension of the Council’s Love Local campaign launched in January to help support local businesses.

Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “While restrictions are slowly easing, public gatherings are still limited and we understand many in our community are hesitant to venture out into crowds. That’s why Council is still looking for creative and safe ways to engage with you. The new Love Local Live series will bring a little entertainment to you, wherever you are, while supporting and promoting local businesses and creatives.”

I was also previously working on a live activation street event that Council had planned to hold in late March (as part of several events across the mountains to support businesses, economy and creatives already impacted by the bushfires and down turn in tourism). However, like for many, COVID-19 has meant that we have needed to rethink some of our plans. I am excited to be able to help Council actualise this initiative which will support local creatives and businesses and present some of our terrific talent to the Blue Mountains community and beyond.

I have also organised local photographer Lona Logan from Inertia Photography – Photography and Concept Art by Lonaa to complete a photo shoot of each act to give them some further images to use for their portfolios and for further promotional use and will be featured in the lead up to each performance.” – Charity Mirow

Love Local Live schedule:
• Monday 15 June – Linda Mizzi
• Monday 22 June – Le Hot Club de Katoomba
• Monday 29 June – Bonniedoon Duo
• Monday 6 July – Aurora Li & Ace Evergreen
• Monday 13 July – The Three Handed Beat Bandits
• Monday 20 July – CJ Stranger

You can also join the events and invite friends (from all locations!) to come and be a part of this great initiative too.
Stay turned for the scheduled facebook streams to set your reminders for as well.

Promoter / Producer profile – Haze Magazine ‘Creation in Isolation’

Big thanks to The Haze Magazine team for including me in their ‘Creation in Isolation’ series.

“Since the start of COVID-19 and the bans on gatherings all my upcoming Fusion Boutique concerts have been cancelled or are still in the process of being rescheduled. When you have bookings confirmed and shows on sale and promoted 8 months in advance this hits pretty hard especially when you are looking at some really fantastic shows coming up including two already sold out concerts with Katie Noonan! I am really looking forward to welcoming guests back for some more quality original live music social experiences when it is safe to do so.

For now I have been using this time to reflect on what I have presented and achieved in live music and events over the last 11 years in the Blue Mountains and I am appreciating how lucky I have been to be able to bring audiences these fabulous musical experiences.

I have been in the process of uploading photos and videos taken at some previous events to my Fusion Boutique Presents facebook page.

The ‘Gigs on Govetts’ series that I run in conjunction with Blackheath Bar & Bistro have been organised as live streams now and I hope to announce the replacement venue show dates when available.

I am also very excited to be currently working with Blue Mountains City Council to help them deliver a series of live stream performances of local artists at Shelter Studios, engineered by KFM Media. Keep an eye out on the Fusion Facebook page for the weekly series running from 7-8pm Monday nights, launching on the 15th June.”
